The most important prepping activity is to ensure you have the strength and stability of mind. In crisis situations you have to deal with some or all of the following:
- Extreme stress
- Unplanned events
- Loss of situational control
- Injuries to you or your family
- Financial and physical loss
- Separation from your family
- Loss of family pets
Some extreme events can be rapid and catastrophic – your resilience and mental fortitude may be the only thing to reduce further harm to you and your family. Replenish your mental reserves whenever you can. The following can help you survive:
- Get sufficient sleep during non crisis events
- Exercise for strength and cardiovascular health – seek medical guidance and advice
- Eat for body – reduce carbohydrates and sugars, ensure you are consuming enough protein and fats to sustain your body’s operation and repair – consultant doctors who are educated on modern dietary research
- Keep hydrated with water – reduce and/or fast from caffeinated and sugary beverages
- You can’t do it all yourself – lean on family and friends if you need to
